The International School of Prague believes that information technology is a critical part of our learning community and an essential tool in the teaching and learning processes. The School integrates information technology tools and resources in the curriculum in line with the (ISTE) National Education Technology Standards to engage students to think critically, create, access, evaluate, use, publish and communicate information.

Multimedia Desktop Labs

Computing and Communications Infrastructure

Network: All instructional spaces, administration office, library and other infrastructure of the school are connected over a 100 Mbps LAN with a 1 GB backbone

Petr Mares 1 to 1 Laptop Program

The Petr Mares 1 to 1 Laptop Program in the Middle and Upper School increases student access to laptops with the goal of further integrating information technology and literacy into our curriculum. The program provides enhanced learning opportunities in our classrooms and promotes the development of responsible digital citizenship.

The school has a student and faculty laptop program. 5 wireless Macbook 13” laptop carts in Grades K-5 (5), and the Upper School (1) available to students on a check out basis. All full time faculty are assigned a MacBook laptop for their school and personal use. We have a Middle School 1 to 1 laptop program. All Grade 6-8 students are loaned a school leased Macbook with case and charger which they use through out the school day and then take home in the evenings. We also have a 1 to 1 Laptop Program in Upper School. The Grade 9/10 students are required to bring a Macbook Laptop, which is the responsibility of individual families to purchase, for home and school use. Grade 11/12 on voluntary basis can also participate in the US 1 to 1 Laptop Program with a Macbook. For documentation and further information please contact the Middle and Upper School offices.

Wireless Access

The school is wireless with access to the Internet and our web services through 802.11 g access points

All school machines run iLife, iWork, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Office for Mac, Inspiration, plus specific productivity software to support the curriculum in different sections of the school

Technical Support Services

IT Department Helpdesk provides technical support for all IT Services to faculty, staff and students Monday through Friday from 8.00 to 4.00 p.m.

IT Curriculum and Professional Development

Monthly Monday Cyber Café are offered to all faculty and staff
School Professional Development days IT Department provides workshop session
IT Specialist and our Moodle Mentors are available to support faculty/staff on a one to one basis on appointment.

User Policies

Acceptable Use and Faculty Laptop User Agreements provide students’ faculty and staff with the guidelines and responsibilities for the use of IT systems and laptops at the International School of Prague.
